Whoever says no to salmon is really missing out, I must say… not only does the fish have tons of added nutrients, but it is absolutely delicious! As a kid from the east coast, long island specifically, I grew up eating fish all the time. I then went on to college in northern New England where there was a different understanding of seafood; almost everyone eats it, it’s everywhere, all year round and beyond fresh! I began to love the local simplicity of it so much, that I became a pescatarian. I ate fish in college night and day, all sorts and types!

SHAK-SHUKA alla GNOCCHI
ok where to begin ? brunch? middle eastern? sauce? bread? eggs? cheesy? warm deliciousness? what’s not to love about this incredible creation! Shakshuka is a classic middle eastern dish I had discovered on my travels through Israel. It’s made with a few simple, healthy ingredients and usually made vegetarian. I had experimented with shakshuka a few times in my own kitchen, but then I went to Israel… and WOW! Did you know they serve this dish as a classic entree at almost every restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner, literally any time of day, it’s most likely on the menu, but just as you would search for THE best pizza in New York City, you will have to find THE spot for the best shakshuka in Israel. Anyway, after trying many different types abroad, I came home with my own Italian collaboration on it and let me tell you, it’s pretty damn good!
STICKY POMEGRANATE CHICKEN
holy moly STICKY SWEET SPICY CHICKEN! if you’re like me always craving asian, but want to use what you have in the fridge, you have got to try this recipe! I made sticky pomegranate chicken over white rice and damn it may have just been the best tasting thing i’ve made in a while. my boss agreed. using what you have in the fridge can sometimes make up the best meals! it’s true think about what you have or what you’re craving and work with it! we were craving asian , so instead of ordering in, we got creative with these different glazes and sauces. we even added fruit and peppers to spice things up a bit! then of COURSE just simply made some rice and we had a down right DELICIOUS MEAL- try it!
ARM WORKOUT RISOTTO
herby, mushroomy, creamy, vegan, RISOTTO, which took forever to physically make, but was worth every bite. i recommend making this on a relaxing evening where you can sip on a glass of wine, call your mom or turn on your favorite TV show. definitely a dish made with love and eaten with patience and i say THAT because it’s worth every bite and i probably should have eaten this slower but hey, there’s always room for improvement, at least I got a good arm workout! Hope you all enjoy, save this one for the end of the week with friends or family.
SUMMER FINEST FILET
SIZZLIN’ SPICY STEAK straight off the grill and paired with all the local seasonal ingredients, I think that’s what makes it so special — without all the seasonal goods, in my opinion, it would be pretty boring. enjoy this while the summer lasts, while you can still find the juiciest tomato to pair with or sweetest local corn, while you can still throw something on the grill and have a delicious dinner ready in 1,2,3.

about to get wild tonight. yep that’s right I said WILD! we’re talkin’ cozy wild rice with crispy, flaky salmon on TOP! this rice is the most healthyISH, delish, comforting, satisfying, wintery mix you could think of I made it for thanksgiving and it was a huge HIT! COZY MATZO BALL SOUP
This soup was my childhood. I mean I grew up having it almost every Jewish holiday dinner, made best by my grandmother. I wish I could say this is as good as hers, but I swear it almost is… all her lessons in the kitchen have come a long way. You can all thank me for this one later, enjoy!
LENTIL + ROASTED SWEET POTATO BOWL
Preheat oven to 425°. Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil; slowly add lentils. Then bring to a simmer and cook uncovered for about 20 -25 minutes, string occasionally. Try lentils to be sure they are cooked to your liking, drain lentils, rinse with cold water to stop cooking process and transfer to a large bowl to cool.
